Galaera Diaries: pasyonasyon at ccp

pasyoNasyon invite

Last May 14, I attended the opening of the exhibit sponsored by KASIBULAN (Kababaihan sa Bagong Sining at Bagong Sibol na Kamalayan or Women in Art and Emerging Consciousness) at the CCP (Cultural Center of the Philippines).

Entitled as PasyoNasyon, this project is an attempt to concretize and materialize concepts and ideas that revolve around the cultural history of the Philippines and the participation of women, together with personal commentaries on the role of the Filipino women and the restrictions imposed as natural consequences of sociological and political situation and events. Using various forms of arts and media, the exhibit also shows an experimental mixture of dance, music ritual and imagery designed to allow the voices and thoughts of all Kasibulan members.

You can visit the exhibit at the Bulwagang Juan Luna (Main Gallery) of CCP from May 14 to June 21, 2009. Admission is free. The gallery is open from 10AM to 6PM, daily except Mondays.

Here are a few artworks that interest me that night.

OMG. I am loving the exhibit! Wish I went, too! Which one is Vivian’s work?

it’s the simple but classy, salamin, salamin i.e. matagumpay matalino inscription.

i have a pic but i took a lousy shot. well, since it’s a mirror, i saw myself taking a picture of it. the shot doesn’t give justice.

    I also love CCP’s new logo. 🙂
